Orienteering Wellington and Orienteering Hutt Valley invite you to the 2026 Pokapū Championships, held in the sand-dune forests of Waitārere Beach.

Waitārere Beach is well known for its complex, intricate contour detail and varying visibility, and Osgiliath Northwest showcases the best of this. The Middle Distance event marks a return to the area used for the National Orienteering Champs in 2020. With a
coastal dune strip of complex macrocarpa, sections of young pines with low visibility and more runnable pine
forest, the area will challenge the best orienteers.
