Event Information

Start any time between 10:00am and 12:30pm. course closure 2:30pm

The OY (Orienteer of the Year) series OY5 event is in Woodhill forest with entry through the Restall Rd gate. There will be direction signs from Waimauku (Restall Rd is about 5 km further along SH16 from Waimauku). Once in the forest you will follow the signs, heading south, to the event centre which is just off Inland Rd.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Forest security now means that every car must be positively identified as a car going to the orienteering event. There are two ways of proving your identity.
1. The first is to show an SportIdent e-card (one per vehicle is sufficient). This electronic card is unique to orienteering and will be accepted as proof of identity by the gate person.
2. For those without an e-card available, youll need to show the gate person a unique form. Please contact us [email protected] for a copy.
Without either this form or an ecard the gate man will question you until he is certain you have come to the forest to orienteer. Well have a more distinctive form for those who need one available at registration for use at the upcoming OY events.

There are 9 courses available catering for the full range of orienteering skills. There will also be a string course for the very littlies.

If you are new to orienteering there will be people very happy to give you help. Please come to the registration vehicle and tell them you are new. Well look after you from there.

Costs are:
Club members $14 for senior, $7 for student and $28 for a family.
Non club members $20 for senior, $10 for student and $40 for a family.
There is an e-card hire charge of $3 for each card except for children 10 and under for whom it is free.
