Kings Birthday Weekend Of O 2023 And Tūāraki-Northern Regional Championships 2023: 3rd-5th June 2023

Counties Manukau Orienteering Club and Orienteering Waikato formally invite you to attend an exciting weekend of orienteering at King’s Birthday in June 2023. The events also incorporate the Tūāraki-Northern Regional Championships for 2023.

There is an Embargo Notice now in place. Please search for embargo on www.orienteering.org.nz for further details. Anyone found breaking this embargo or intentionally trying to gain an unfair advantage will be disqualified from competing or coaching at the relevant event.

This sprint will be held on the University campus; building, paths, grass, steps.
Parking will be at “Carpark 2B”
Event Arena location “The Village Green”.  In front of the shops and café with the lake behind it.

Sunday, 4th June 2023 - Long

Waiuku South is 100% pine forest, mixture of fast open / rough open / dense under growth.

Red courses:100% pine forest, mixture of fast open / rough open / dense undergrowth.
Orange, Yellow, and White courses; Farmland and pine forest
Parking will be along the road as instructed.
Event arena: Wilson Road / Robinson Road Junction, Waiuku North Forest.

Notices

  • Read event information on display at registration.
  • Help and getting started advice available at registration. Please ask.
  • Bring your own food/water.
  • Orienteering is Smoke Free. Absolutely NO smoking at event or anywhere in forest (including inside car or middle of road).
  • Compass recommended (limited free hire available).
  • Carrying a whistle recommended.
  • The recognised distress signal is 6 blasts on whistle. Do not play with whistle as anyone hearing it will abandon their course to try and find you or report to registration.
  • SPORTident timing in use.
  • Important: All participants must punch the finish and download SPORTident card even if they decide not to finish the course.
  • No dogs allowed.

Entry on the day will not be available.

• All fees are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are inclusive of GST (Goods & Services Tax)
• Standard entry fees apply until 14th May 2023
• Late entry fees apply from 15th May 2023 until entries close on 21st May 2023
• Child is 12 years or younger (born in 2011 or later)
• Junior is from 13 years to 20 years (born from 2003 to 2010)
• Adult is 21 years or older (born in 2002 or earlier)
• Family is up to two adults (21 and over) plus two (or more) children (20 and under) living at the same address
• Non-club member levy does not apply if you are a member of any Orienteering club in the world
