What is a rogaine?
A rogaine is a type of orienteering. Competitors have a set period of time to reach as many marked points (called controls) as possible. Each control has an assigned amount of points. Arriving late to the finish over the set time results in points being deducted. The runner (or walker) with the most points wins. The OBOP summer nav rogaines are 45 minutes long and the areas include urban areas, parks and some forest.
What do I need to bring?
Bring yourself and a few friends. You can run individually or in pairs/trios. You will also need some shoes the you can run/jog in for 45 minutes and a pen or pencil. Compasses, while helpful for some, are not required. OBOP Club members will be at the event to assist with any questions or advice.
