Open grass land with rocky escarpment makes for interesting orienteering.

Notice the distances of the Red Long and Red Short, choose carefully.

Course Length, Climb and Number of Controls Difficulty
Red Long 8.1 km, 275 m climb Technically demanding
Red Short 3.7 km, 140 m climb Technically demanding
Orange 3.4 km, 100 m climb Intermediate
Yellow 2.5 km, 95 m climb Easy/Developing
White 1.4 km, 50 m climb Beginners

Parking and directions

Park in the reserved parking area at the event centre.

Specific Hazards and Notes:

  • Steep slippery escarpment area especially if wet. There is one safe marked route up the escarpment , this does not rule out viable alternatives.
  • Area can be exposed if the weather is cold wet and windy. Please bring appropriate clothing.
  • The long is about 7-8 km and shot is about 4 km so choose your course carefully.

Safety bearing

Head away from the harbour/sea. If you are south of the start, go north. If you are north of the start, head south. This will bring you to the start area and main access track.

  • Please do not come to the event if you have any cold or flu symptoms, or are in your COVID-19 isolation period.
