The Winter Score series will generally have around 20 controls of varying points. Collect as many points as you can in 1 hour. Arrive from 11 am, and register for the mass start at 11.30 (or individual starts till 11.45). Maps will be handed out at the start, all planning is in race time.
Parents of younger or inexperienced athletes may wish to accompany them. Navigational choices are more difficult than a white course. The good news: we have a category designed specifically for parent and child teams.
There will be 5 categories:
- 12 and under
- Young (<13) +old (>13)
- 18 and under
- Veteran (>55)
From the south, the best way is to get off the expressway at Queen Elizabeth Park, take Emerald Glen Rd, which turns into Waterfall Rd and then Valley Rd - turn right into Maungakotukutuku Rd. Please note that Waterfall Rd and Maungakotukutuku Rds are narrow and winding - take care and follow speed limits.
Or you could go into Paraparaumu - turn east at the lights on the old highway in the centre of Paraparaumu, follow Ruapehu St and then Valley Rd to Maungakotukutuku Rd
There are no toilets at the event centre and given that it is not an all day event we wont be providing any - suggest you stop at Queen Elizabeth Park or Paraparaumu (Coastlands) Mall. Please also note that there is no cell phone coverage at the event centre.
