Under the golden splendour of the magnificent trees at Nelson Central School, Abby Isherwood on Sunday crossed the finish line of the Central Challenge adventure race. The 9-year-old St Paul's Catholic School pupil had just completed the event with her family: Courtenay Isherwood,Yvette Krohn-Isherwood, Eva Isherwood, 8, and their dog, Dante. "It was quite hard," Abby said of the challenge to locate checkpoints on the route in the team orienteering event known as a rogaine.
