Nelson Orienteering Club is hosting King’s Birthday Weekend from 5 to 7 June 2027. The competition includes three World Ranking Events, including the trials for the NZSS team to compete at the Southern Cross Junior Challenge in Australia. Once more we travel to Golden Bay / Mohua to experience a new navigational challenge, this time in Upper Takaka. The following embargoes come into effect as of 3 July 2026. At this stage, if you are looking for accommodation we encourage you to book well in advance and consider anywhere from Motueka to Pohara.

At this stage, the programme is to host the Middle and Long Distances on new maps at Upper Takaka, followed by the Sprint Distance currently pencilled in for Motueka Schools. Please note that we still have to obtain access for the sprint.
