The next multiday orienteering is the South Island Championships in the Otago Peninsula hosted by the Dunedin club . The lineup is:Thursday is Anzac Day, so our first event will be in the  afternoon. The Sprint is from 4pm located at Green Island from 4pm onwards, after commemoration services are completed.
Friday is a low key training day, generously run by Jenni Adams from PAPO.
Saturday is theLong Distance, based from Portobello Domain
Sunday morning Middle Distance is on out at Okia Reserve, near the Pyramids.
Go to the event website for details. Entries are open now and close on Saturday 13th April.

We are a relatively small club to hold such a big event, and we will need as many club members from all over NZ, if possible, to take a turn at volunteering on any or all of the three main event days. If you would like to offer your help on a day and at a time that suits you, please email the organiser, Helen Thayer at your earliest convenience, she’ll be pleased to hear from you.

A huge thanks to the landowners;

  • Numerous Green Island community organisations and landowners
  • The Hereweka / Harbour Cone Trust
  • The Otago Peninsula Trust
  • Several private landowners on Otago Peninsula who are being very generous in allowing us to access their land

Ngā mihi
Jeni Pelvin, Controller for the Long Distance event
