Club Forum – Volunteers: the heart of our sport
By Christo Peters - Fri 22 Oct 2021 11:10pm

Volunteers are the backbone of orienteering, so it goes without saying that how we treat and work with volunteers is critical to the health of the sport. This years club forum will focus on the opportunities and challenges of volunteering in orienteering. We aim to share insights and participate in discussions that will shine the light on effective volunteer practices, and which will be of value to clubs and event organisers.

Hosted by ONZ, we hope to build on the success of last year’s virtual club forum, and bring orienteers from across the country together to explore ways of making our clubs, and the sport, run better.

The forum is open to everyone, and will be of particular interest to those involved in running clubs and events, and/or who have an interest in good volunteer practices. We will also be keen to discuss how things are going with ONZ and how we can continue to deliver value to the sport.

The Club Forum will take place between 7:30-9:30pm on Tuesday October via Zoom (video). Last year we had healthy numbers attend, and we had great feedback about the virtual (video) format which worked well.

We ask that attendees RSVP to [email protected] to signal their interest in attending. A Zoom link and pre event information will be shared with those who register interest in attending.

We look forward to seeing you there, and if you have any questions please get in touch.

Kind Regards
