Nelson Orienteering Club are excited to announce the initial embargo notice for the New Zealand Orienteering Champs 2022.

The Sprint Distance embargo covers the campuses of Hampden Street School, Nelson College and the Braemar Campus of Nelson Hospital. The Long Distance embargo covers the whole of Canaan Downs but still allows access from the Harwood Hole Carpark to the Rameka Track and through to the Inland Able Tasman Track. The Middle Distance and Relay embargoes cover the two adjoining farms of Ngarua and Kairuru on Takaka Hill.

Please read the notice to familiarise your self with the restrictions.

At this stage, we ask anyone making accommodation bookings to please consider the Motueka side of the Takaka Hill. The Hill is prone to slips and the club is working on a contingency plan to relocate all three events to another location if the road is compromised. This may include relocating the Long, Middle and Relay to the St Arnaud location at relatively short notice.

Further details will be in Event Bulletin #1 to be released by 15 October 2022 mid November 2022.
