Updated schedule and embargoed areas for the 2026 Kings Birthday Championships (incorporating the Auckland Triple Crown Championships)

Due to overlapping events, the schedule has been revised as follows:

30 May – Saturday – Day 1

Event: Sprint

Start: 2:00pm

Location: Avondale College or Rangitoto College – “Bree”

31 May – Sunday – Day 2

Event: Middle

Start: 10:00am

Location: Woodhill Forest North – “Fangorn”

1 June – Monday – Day 3

Event: Long

Start: 9:30am

Location: Woodhill Forest South – “Hobbit Woods”

Embargo Rules

• The embargoed areas (marked in red on the map) are strictly off-limits. No one intending to compete, or who may influence the race results, at Kings Birthday 2026 may enter these areas from now until the end of the competition.

• Embarking from boats from the Pacific Ocean is not permitted.

• Permissive Routes (marked in green on the map) may be used to travel to other events, but exiting vehicles along these routes is not permitted.

Exception:

Students/staff at Avondale College or Rangitoto College, or individuals participating in extra-curricular activities at those locations, may access the school grounds. However, no orienteering of any kind may take place in embargoed areas until after the competition.
