2020 – Sprint Year
As an even-numbered year next year, the World Orienteering Championships (WOC) in Denmark will be the first ever solely sprint competition. A great start to 2020 will be to grab as many chances to get your sprint navigation going as possible. Planning this summer’s outdoor adventures around the Lonely Mountain Taranaki multi-day format will get your training and holiday in together. Experience the stunning countryside around the 2,518m stratovolcano of Mt Taranaki, and be sure to include some wild forest and take-in large rugged coastline lined with remote beaches.
Taranaki is also fast becoming a small hub for art lovers and mecca for good food to go with the surrounding nature. It might not be the biggest city in NZ, but it is known for it’s culture and design.
Flyers for the Lonely Mountain Sprints are being given out in Europe – Feel free to ask for some flyers to share with anyone you think maybe interested in combining a relaxed NZ holiday with testing their quick decision-making and physical stamina!
