Marquita Gelderman (North West) achieved three gold medals in the Sprint, Middle and Long Distance events at the World Masters Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships 2017 held in France 29th July – 5th August 2017.
Partner Rob Garden (North West) earned Bronze in the M65 Middle distance and then followed it up with a Gold Medal in the Long Distance event.
Seven kiwis travelled to France to compete in the World Masters MTB Orienteering Champs: Marquita Gelderman (W50 – 1st in Sprint, Middle & Long), Rob Garden (M65 6th in Sprint, 3rd in Middle & 1st in Long), Deb Bain (W55 6th in Sprint, 5th in Middle & Long), Sally Dickson (W55 4th in Middle, 8th in Sprint & Long), Greg Barbour (M55 14th in Sprint, 17th in Middle, 23rd in Long), Jim Sutherland (M60 – 17th in Sprint, 18th in Long), and Nick Collins (M65 – 4th in Sprint, 10th in Long).
