Tūāraki (Northern) Regional Champs | Entries due 13 April

North West Orienteering Club (NWOC) is keen to welcome orienteers from the Northern Region, all other areas of New Zealand and the world! Join us at the Tūāraki Northern Regional Champs over Anzac Weekend 2026.

Enjoy three days orienteering on some of the best maps in Woodhill Forest. The terrain is a mix of pine forest, both mature and younger, low visibility areas, and native bush. Runnability is generally good. Contour varies from steep to very flat with typical intricate sand-dune detail.

  • Each day is a separate event with a chasing start for most classes on Day 3.
    • Enter just one or two days or all three!
  • Camping is available to lessen the commute. See below.
  • All events are accessed from SH16, north of Waimauku. Allow 90 minutes driving time from central Auckland or 100 minutes from Auckland Airport.
  • Enter here Entries close 11:59pm on Tuesday 14 April.
  • Event information here
  • Start times from midday on Saturday 25 April and from 10am on Sunday 26 and Monday 27 April
  • We will be encouraging carpooling from Auckland to events

Camping for tents and/or small campervans is available at Leightons Farm, 320 Wilson Road, South Head.

  • Leightons Farm is a beautiful deer farm, with basic toilet and hot shower facilities; six toilets and four showers – no electricity or cooking facilities.
  • The drive to Parking for Day 1 is approx. 20 minutes and we are hopeful that campers will be able to access Days 2 & 3 via a shorter drive through the forest.
  • Cost for camping is $15 per night, per adult and $7.50 per night, per child.
  • Staying at Leighton’s Farm provides a great option to minimise driving and maximise the time socialising and unwinding with orienteering friends after each event.
  • To book for camping, please enter your details via the entry page on enterO. Accommodation can be added to enterO once you have entered the event.
