As we come to the end of the year and the winding down of events it’s a cool opportunity to reflect on the year. I hope you take some time to reflect on your own orienteering achievements and the contribution you have made to your club (or at a national level) – thankyou! Our junior and high performance athletes have just finished training north of Auckland at the High Performance and Junior Camps. The Junior Camp website lists “Eat, sleep and breathe orienteering” as its first bullet points for what they will be up to – what fun!!!!

Three main items we as a Board have been focused on are included with more detail below. They are:

• Final Strategic Plan 2026/2030 – We as a Board have been busy refining the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan. See below for the final version, thanks Joolz for the design, and to everyone for your input during the process.
• Draft Business Plan 2026 – the draft business plan is included in this Compass Point for member feedback, we’ll be considering feedback received at our meeting at the end of January. 
• Board vacancies – there are two vacancies by rotation – see below for more information.
