For the 750 people who attended Oceania. I wish I had been there but unfortunately this time I was unable to attend. A young family and other commitments meant we couldn’t quite make it work. What an amazing effort from everyone involved, from the organisers through to all the competitors – what a great way to start the year!

We have a number of roles we would love to have filled from our community of orienteers, Board members – if you love orienteering and are keen to help guide the future of our sport we’d love to hear from you, Sustainability Working Group – following a false start with COVID disrupting the focus we want to reestablish this group, and two new trial paid roles Major events support – to support clubs with putting on major events and Technical Committee support – to support the Technical Committee. The Board is very keen to have these roles in place to further support clubs.

Looking ahead for the year for the Board we have two roles on the Board we need to fill, we are progressing with a feasibility study for a JWOC bid and have our five year strategic planning coming up.
