How amazing was Nationals at Easter? Amazingis the answer! OBOP and Taupō Clubs excelled in hosting over 700 orienteers during the four-day event, providing challenging courses on demanding maps. It was a delight to experience the high-quality navigation, where losing contact with the map or concentration could result in significant mistakes.

Our selectors have been busy choosing various national teams with announcements of JWOC, World Cup, World University and European Youth Championships teams all now named – congratulations to all athletes. These athletes will all now be considering their training programmes ahead of the competitions in a few months.

North Island Secondary Schools Championships are happening as I write this and with over 300 entries it’s another great indicator of the health of our sport. We all know it’s a great sport and it’s cool more people are joining us too!

The Board farewelled Magnus Bengtsson who had served 6 years on the Board and we welcome Marcus Diprose onto the Board who is a club member from PAPO.
