The HB Schools Middle Championships at Craggy Range on Sunday 24th May 2026 was a fantastic day of orienteering, with 76 students taking part in calm, dry weather conditions. The spectator zone allowed families, teachers and supporters to watch the students out on the course, creating a great atmosphere throughout the event. The course was through
rolling hills, some deep gullies and cliffs, and some forest.

This event replaced the traditional relays and gave students the opportunity to experience farm orienteering terrain. Two grades, Championship and Standard were offered so students from primary novice up to senior High School championship could build and develop their  navigation skills at their own level.

A huge thank you to the landowners for Craggy Range Road for making their land available for this event, and to all the volunteers who once again put in a tremendous effort to make the day run so smoothly. Another great team effort from the club and schools involved.
