A review of the Major Events has been undertaken and ONZ has identified the need to consider alternatives to how events are allocated and managed. It is imperative for the continued growth and development of our sport that we review events and look at the best options for delivering these in the future.
Orienteering NZ News, Updates, and with the end of the year approaching fast, its timely to have a look at what’s happened in 2018.
Orienteering NZ fully supports the IOF in the development of this policy on preventing harassment within our sport.
The full policy (in PDF format) is available on the IOF website and on the Orienteering NZ website “Policy and Procedures” page.
The Minutes of the XXIX IOF Ordinary General Assembly have been approved and are now published on the IOF website. Read all about the various reports, proposals and the Council elections which took place.
ONZ reminds clubs we now have a Safety Management System. We also require clubs to report any accidents or incidents using our online accident report.

The ONZ Mapping Committee have prepared two information summaries for NZ Orienteers and Mappers on the new ISOM2017 mapping specification changes.
Advice for NZ mappers regarding the changeover to the new IOF ISOM2017 mapping specification for standard orienteering events.
The IOF has agreed a new mapping specification for standard orienteering events. Over the next few years you will run on a mixture of old (ISOM 2000) and new (ISOM 2017) mapping. The organisers will make it clear what you are going to get.
