Controller’s Clinic feedback | Taranaki

The recent two-day controllers’ clinic was successful, with primarily Taranaki orienteers in attendance, along with one enthusiastic participant from outside the region. All are on their way to certify as a qualified controllers.

Feedback from the participants:
“Great course, good to know the extent of control a controller has. Liked the time spent on test printing, proximity of controls and cancelling a competition. Especially enjoyed the controllers’ conundrums.”

“Alister is a good teacher, with lots of personal anecdotes that made the material more interesting.  I liked the outdoor practical exercises, “What’s wrong with these courses?”. Good on HSE aspects, and when to postpone/cancel etc.”

“Good mix of classroom, practical and group discussion. As said above, conundrums, proximity of controls and relevance to how SIAC works with time between punches. One really good reminder was that if it is too hard to fit the course on A4, print on A3 and trim to size !! Problem solved.”
