World Cup Final 2025  | Uster, Switzerland

he Kiwi team gathered in Uster, located in the canton of Zürich in northeastern Switzerland, for the final World Cup of the year. The event started with the sprint which was also a qualifier for the Knockout. It was a strong performance by Laura and Tim Robertson which secured their spots in the knockout stage. Athletes were handed large A3 maps for the sprint, which may, or may not, have helped with route choices and the on-the-spot comparisons at the start. Much discussion followed about routes taken to control 4 in both races, which proved decisive for those who got off to a strong start. We are sure a  bit of sibling rivalry afterwards with Laura placing above Tim. Tim only 45 seconds away from the winner in 18th and Laura finished in equal 17th place with Eleonora Alinder (SWE). It was a spectacular finish in the women’s race, as Aebersold won by a whopping 30 seconds ahead of compatriot Natalia Gemperle and was jogging with that knowledge into the finish chute.
