- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: Finish my bucket list, travel the world competing in orienteering events and buying everything I wanted to

- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Getting to the point I had pretty much no idea where I was and deciding I might as well just use the safety bearing… at nationals long distance this year…
- What is your best Orienteering memory: My first ever event, when Lizzie (Ingham) was sent out to run the yellow so I didn’t win

- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: Eating way too many carbs for lunch at my uni residential hall #fresher five
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: Invent a viable way of generating energy from nuclear fusion, Reverse global warming, Reconcile general relativity and quantum mechanics
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Getting tragically lost at camp champs on my first ever junior camp

- What drives your Hungar(y) for success: The excitement of having watched JWOC every year for ages, but now instead of sitting at home watching GPS-tracked dots move across a map, I’ll actually be there competing

- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: I would be found at Auckland University, doing engineering work
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: 1. Travel 2. Get my engineering degree 3. Get a job that I love
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: I would do a lot of travel and pursue sport and music
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: To take one day at a time and enjoy it while I can
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Almost braking my ankle in junior camp sprint champs 2015
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Australian sprint Champs 2017, awesome race and great vibe with the team

- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: Pm: Eating a well-balanced healthy meal complete with wholegrains and nutritious salad greens. Am: Amidst 9.5 hours of sleep, necessary for optimal muscle repair and maximal brain function
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: 1. Make a bucket list, 2. Schedule a time to make a bucket list, 3. Make it out of Kecskemet alive
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: Find the best orienteering terrain in Scandinavia and live on it. Or maybe Switzerland
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: Matt Ogden: “off the line, losing time”
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: 45min control in Woodhill on a course that took me 2.5 hours
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Hard choice between AUSchamps 2013, my first JWOC (especially the middle qual) and last stage Oringen 2017
- What Orienteer do you most relate to: Genetically my mum or dad. Spiritually someone like Daniel Hubmann
- What food really gets you Hungary: 800HUF kebabs from Kiskoros
- What are you most Hungary for at JWOC: Hungary for success of course
- What drives your Hungar(y) for success: Whatever I ate last (a banana in this case)
Callum Hill
- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: According to my lecture schedule, somewhere in the Otago medical school, but within that it’s probably a 50/50 chance between the library and the cafeteria
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: Starting with the most reasonable to the least: I really want to do Godzone one day, I would love to run the length of New Zealand, and I would be thrilled to go to space!
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: I would probably try to see how many national parks I could explore across the world before I got bored

- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Getting lost, running 2km off the map and being herded back to the car park by some scary looking cows
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Has to be touring Australia as part of the secondary schools team
- What Orienteer do you most relate to: Flynn Hill – He’s not very good but who can you relate to more than your twin?
- What food really gets you Hungary: Mixed lamb and chicken kebab snack pack with sweet chilli, BBQ and yoghurt garlic sauce and extra cheese
- What are you most Hungary for at JWOC: he long distance, something about 15km through Hungarian scrub under the European sun just sounds riveting
- What drives your Hungar(y) for success: The places we go. To be in the zone, racing with all systems go, in front of some stunning backdrops is a feeling that you really just can’t beat
Daniel Monckton
- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: At the moment probably scootering around picking orders at fast pace at Mighty Ape but soon to be off travelling Europe
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: Run on some Scandinavian O maps, go skydiving, become bilingual
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: Travel all around Europe, the USA and the world
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: “You can’t MP if you get all the controls.”
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Being chased by cows during a Night-O
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Representing NZ in Australia twice in 2015 and 2017, and spectating WOC in Scotland in 2015

- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Losing the lead in Aus Champs Relay for Stephen and Kurtis on the very last leg

- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: Sitting confused through a math lecture wishing I was out running
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: Visit every continent, go scuba diving, finish the Coast2Coast 1-day competition
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: Continue living life and loving to travel, but always in business class
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: There’s no harm in ever asking for something, the worse that can happen is they’ll say no, and you’ll be the same as if you never asked
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Finishing Oceania Schools Middle, with a TV camera capturing the whole thing
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Putting on NZ gear and orienteering for the first time for NZ

- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: I don’t have a bucket list currently however, probably; 1) Go into SPACE, 2) Travel all around the world, 3) Attend JWOC

- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: Don’t let small-term things get in the way of long-term goals
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Being too dehydrated in a competition and having to walk the rest of the course

Devon Beckman (Coach)
- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: Probably going across the road to get a coffee
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: Ride the Alps, Pyrenees, French Riviera and Flandrian Cobbles; own property in more than one country (and still eat avo on toast); co-organize a Sprint the Bay in Europe
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: Organize the best events in the world
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: “Always be on your toes like a midget in a urinal” – Duncan Morrison
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: JWOC 2017 Long Distance. Literally don’t remember the last 30 mins of the race
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Stage 5 – SOW 2016. Running on the top of a mountain, in a thunderstorm, slicing my leg open and abandoning race with my leg soaked in blood. But the views were sick and the Swiss painkillers were epic
- What Orienteer do you most relate to: Thierry (washed up elite turned national team coach)
- What food really gets you Hungary: Coffee
- What are you most Hungary for at JWOC: Living vicariously through the athletes
- What drives your Hungar(y) for success: Overwhelming pressure from friends and family
Karen Beckman (Manager)
- If we were to meet you at 12:30 on a Thursday, what would you be doing: Day off work, lunch/coffee after long walk with my dog Gus
- What are the top 3 things on your bucket list: Go to the Olympics as a spectator; Paris 2024, Intrepid Travel; South America, learn another language – by living in another country.
- If you didn’t need money, what would you do: Create a non-profit organisation & definitely always travel first class
- What is the best piece of advice someone has ever given you: Life is short, time is fast, no replay, no rewind, so enjoy
- What is your worst Orienteering memory: Orienteering at Osgiliath, it was so green & I was out of my depth, felt like I was in Lord of the Rings and Gollum was going to jump out. Finished the course though.
- What is your best Orienteering memory: Best memories is watching any of my family compete in this sport that has given our family great opportunities/experiences.
- What Orienteer do you most relate to: Definitely the nicest Orienteer: Swiss Simone Niggli-Luder, she is pretty good at Orienteering too.
