Danielle (Dani) GoodallDani

  • Age: 16
  • Occupation: Student at Thames High School
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Adventure racing, music and getting 20 post training chicken nuggets for $10 from McDonald’s (strictly sweet and sour sauce)
  • Favourite time of day to train: Afternoon
  • Favourite pre race meal: Chicken nuggets
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: Adidas Yeezy 350 Boosts in Turtle Dove
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? Adjusting to the terrain (especially altitude) and dealing with big race pressures
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? Racing
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… that I would be…. travelling the Worlds outdoors (while orienteering)

 

 


Katie Cory-Wright Katie

  • Age: 16
  • Occupation: Student at Cashmere High School
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Sleep, eat, social media, train
  • Favourite time of day to train: 5pm
  • Favourite pre race meal: Anything that tastes good
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: Asics
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? Physical, altitude, trying not to spend to much
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? The middle
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… that I would be to travel the world

  • Occupation: Student at Wellington Girls’ College
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: More sport like hockey and lacrosse, watching tv, listening to music
  • Favourite time of day to train: After school/ in the evening, maybe a run along the skyline at sunset
  • Favourite pre race meal: Pasta bake
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: Light-up sneakers
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? Definitely the altitude
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? Getting the experience of racing at such a high level competition
  • In 5 years time my dream would be that I would be… to be a World champion in the Long distance

  • Occupation: Student at The University of Auckland
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Running, eating ice cream, looking at maps of Switzerland
  • Favourite time of day to train: All day !
  • Favourite pre race meal: Cereal and yoghurt
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: Icebugs
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? The physical and mental challenge of competing in new terrain
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? The scenery !
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… to have completed my Uni degree working in a job that I love

  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? The mountains
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… that I would be…. doing something that I love

  • Occupation:  Student at Lincoln University studying a Bachelor of Agricultural Science
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Running and exploring
  • Favourite time of day to train: Afternoon
  • Favourite pre race meal: Pasta or anything that will be beneficial to me in the race
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: VJ Bolds
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? The technical terrain in the Swiss Alps!
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? The Long distance, I always look forward to a long distance as it is mentally, technically and physically draining, it’s one of the highlights in JWOC week!
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… too own a plantation forest to Orienteer in!

  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: I’m an engineering student I don’t have spare time
  • Favourite time of day to train: 2-3 hours after a hearty meal
  • Favourite pre race meal: Something tasty

  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland?Running fast up mountains in the right direction
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? Running fast down mountains in the right direction
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… finally graduated and maybe living it up in Europe

  • Occupation:  Full time athlete this year, aspiring law student in 2017.
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Run and have a hit around with my hockey stick!
  • Favourite time of day to train: Afternoon/Evening
  • Favourite pre race meal: Pepper steak pie from Wild Bean Café
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: My trusty precision fit Inov-8 212’s
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? Not making mistakes and making it into the Middle A final after 2 close attempts
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? buzzin’ for the post race week social activities…
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… my orienteering dream would be to have competed at WOC and have some sort of sprint title! My dream dream… hmmm… being in a Christopher Nolan film wouldn’t be half bad!

  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: Watching C grade comedy and laughing far too much (Kidding Frenchy is top-quality)

  • Favourite pre race meal: Orange juice

  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland?Not stealing too much food from the buffet
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? Eating food at the buffet
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… to be at Coachella Music Festival as Taylor Swift’s bae

  • Occupation: Student at The University of Auckland/Athlete
  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time: What spare time? Train, eat, sleep, repeat. Oh and uni
  • Favourite time of day to train: A crisp 7:30am that warms into early morning
  • Favourite pre race meal: A CAB and a coffee from Goodness Gracious Bagels
  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: Adidas Adizero Hagio – perfect for intervals, long runs, and they even survive in Woodhill
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? Getting too excited and over training
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? Relay redemption
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… doing something that I love in a place that I love with people that I love

  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? The amazing terrain and scenery!
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… that I would be…. physically able to grow a beard and hopefully be living the dream somewhere in Europe

  • Favourite pair of running shoes you’ve ever owned: Inov8 x-talon 190’s
  • Biggest challenge for you in competing JWOC 2016 in Switzerland? Overcoming self induced pressure to perform well
  • Most looking forward to JWOC 2016? Spending a solid 2 weeks orienteering with some of my favourite people in the world
  • In 5 years time my dream would be… to be happy, that’s all I really need
