2025 Provisional JWOC & EYOC Teams announced

Thank you to everyone for your patience. We know there were a number of families wanting to purchase flights but in the efforts of getting things correct, and against the backdrop of last year’s appeal, ONZ’s Executive Committee sort additional information from the convenor of selectors before teams were named. At the bottom of this post is additional information on when teams will move from provisional to final as well as advice for families wishing to purchase flights. We ask that athletes and their families read these.

JWOC 2025

The Orienteering New Zealand Senior Selection Panel has named the following team to attend the Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) in Trentino, Italy 26th June – 3rd July.

When will the teams be finalised?

More information about ONZ’s selection process can be found here.

The teams above are provisional. In accordance with ONZs Appeals Policy , teams will be finalised when

(a) 48 Hours has elapsed since the posting of the team and the Convenor of Selectors has not had an athlete seek clarification on selections. If an approach is made to the Convenor of Selectors;

(b) 7 days has elapsed since the posting of the team and the athlete(s) that have sort clarification have not lodged an appeal. If an appeal is lodged;

(c) Within 14 Days after the appeal being lodged an Appeals Committee will convene to consider the appeal and a decision must be made by the Appeals Committee within 7 days of considering the appeal.

Advice for families wanting to book flights

Until ONZ finalises teams, we advise families not to purchase flights that are not refundable as ONZ will not be responsible for any loss through non-selection.
