The North Island Secondary Schools (NISS) Orienteering event was held over the weekend of 16th and 17th October 2020.
Counties Manukau Orienteering Club (CMOC) hosted this secondary schools event and with everything that has been happening in 2020, and after two event postponements, the club was very excited for the participants to finally attend and compete.
The only unfortunate draw back was having to reduce the NISS to a two event program.
Great orienteering was enjoyed by over 200 competitors from 37 Schools with the Sprint at Tuakau college and the long at Waiuku forest.
Devon Beckman did a fantastic job of live commentary and The StreamShop.live filmed the event which is available free to view on Sky Sport Next YouTube Channel.
The challenging courses resulted in 4 different winners from the senior boys & girls across both events.
Congratulations to Cameron Bonar from Rosmini College, Will Tidswell from Havelock North College, Anna Duston and Penelope Salmon from Baradene College.
The Boys and Girls Top school, Premier school, small team and year 7&8 competitions were competitively challenged.
