The transition to forest orienteering begins in Term 2. Competition events can feel a little daunting. There is support available at the forest event on 12 May, in Woodhill Forest with experienced senior secondary school students around to help you out and get you started. Send an email detailing your name, age and where you live, and you will be put in in touch with an orienteering family nearby, who might be able to help you. A few people have asked about support in preparing for the secondary school Rogaine on 29 May. North West Orienteering Club are running Rogaines the two Sundays prior to this event, on 19 and 26 May. Get a team together, enter them and turn up a bit early. As well as the very helpful folk from North West, there will again be some experienced senior secondary students available to explain to you how a rogaine works. Come along and give it a go. Entries for these events are already open.
