Enter your best photo taken at an orienteering event in 2025, t&c’s apply, see below*. There will be three categories to enter:
1. People shots (active / fun),
2. Landscape shot (can have people in the distance, but the landscape is the feature)
3. Abstract / other subjects.
The winning photograph will be taken by a current member of an NZ orienteering club and the winning photograph from each category will win a prize. Please submit photo before 15 March 2026.
* By submitting an image to the Orienteering NZ Photo Competition 2025, entrants are considered to have accepted the Terms & Conditions as below.
• This is an open-category competition. Editing and post-processing is allowed, but AI-generative customisation is prohibited. During the judging process, good quality files will be requested and heavy editing will be considered during judging.
• Orienteering NZ Photo Competition 2025 is open to members of any Orienteering NZ club and any under 18 photos can be submitted with the permission of a parent/guardian. The contest is open to all orienteers who take photographs.
• Entries are open until 15 March 2026 until 23.59pm. All photos entered in the competition must be taken between 1st January and 31st December 2025 within New Zealand at a club event or Orienteering NZ event. Proof of date/location will be requested on entry for the judging process and verification purposes.
• All submitted images must be the work solely of the entrant and not contain third party material. Any images that are suspected to contain the work of third parties may be disqualified from the contest.
• The entrant must have the relevant consent from any individuals featured in any photograph submitted. For images that feature an individual under the age of 18, it is assumed that the parent/guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent.
• The entrant maintains full copyright to their submitted images. Submissions must not display any trademarks or obscene, offensive, dangerous or unlawful behaviour. The photo will be available to be used in the 2025 Orienteering NZ Annual report, and ONZ media . All photographs will be credited to the photographer.
• Maximum 3 photograph entries per person – in any category. Sorry videos are not in this competition, unless you can take a good quality still from a video.
• The winning image will be judged by Orienteering New Zealand and announced via @orienteeringNZ Facebook and Instagram pages in mid-March 2026. The winner will also be contacted via email.
• Entries are to be sent to editor@orienteering.org.nz by 15 March 2026 with the photographer’s chosen category, the photographer’s name, and the event where the photograph was taken.
